Here are some more details about Indiegogo, and a recent engineering win. Enjoy!

Why Indiegogo?

Why Indiegogo indeed! We had some questions about this decision so we though it'd be good to explain it a bit more.

The biggest reason we decided to change from Kickstarter to Indiegogo is add-ons.

Kickstarter has been talking about adding add-ons at the campaign reward level for a long time but had given no firm date for this and unfortunately that left us in limbo with add-ons. Of course, shortly after deciding to change to Indiegogo, Kickstarter announced their rollout of add-ons!

The idea behind our launch campaign is that you can buy a Starter Kit, add an additional pancake, leads, or whatever else you want. This is extremely important in a system that's as flexible as axiiio nano. In our first campaign we struggled with the types of kits we were offering because we couldn't offer additional components when you choose a base kit. It made the rewards less flexible and made our reward structure look very complicated. Indiegogo offers add-ons from the get-go and has done so for quite a while now.

One of the other things that were really excited about with Indiegogo is that we can offer deals to our VIP subscribers like you which is something that we cannot do with Kickstarter. You've signed up early because you're interested in this product and we think you should get reward for doing that.

Finally Indiegogo provides a path to continue selling your product after the initial campaign, which we think is a very good thing.

Engineering News

Here's a recent engineering win for Adam. While building the rigs for our test reviewers, he was thinking about how to improve the slider brackets for the drive belt. Something that would be more universal and fit on almost any slider. Here's the result:


A universal belt attachment bracket for the slider you already have! That means it'll be even easier to turn a wider range of commercial sliders into axiiio motion controlled sliders!
