OK, I'm loving this clamp and I'm going to talk about it some more. 😁
Last week I showed you the first metal prototype of the Keyhole Clamp :
After a bit more tweaking, here's the new one:
Of course the obvious difference is the handle. The longer handle now pokes out from under the motion pancake a decent amount making it easier to operate. Most importantly the longer handle provides much more leverage for tighter clamping.
The CNC machine sure has been busy in the last week. I thought the spindle had bit the dust and stopped spinning, but it turned out it just needed all the cooked cutting lubricant cleaned out of it!
You may recall the improved slider drive belt bracket from a few weeks back? I managed to get a metal prototype done.
